Terms and Conditions / Client Terms of Business Agreement

CompareYachtInsurance.com is a trading name of Fifty North Group Ltd. We are an independent insurance broker and agent.

Fifty North Group Ltd is an Appointed Representative of Innovative Risk Labs Ltd, under Firm Reference Number 794850. Innovative Risk Labs Ltd are Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and are a Lloyd’s Regulated Broker, under FRN 609155.

Your responsibilities: To ensure we provide the best service, you must:

• Provide accurate and complete information.
• Notify us of any changes that may affect your insurance.
• Pay premiums promptly to maintain cover.

Our remuneration: We earn commissions from insurers for the policies we introduce or arrange. Details are available on request.

Data Protection: We handle your personal data in accordance with GDPR and our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website

Complaints: If you have any complaints, please contact our customer service team. We aim to resolve all complaints swiftly and fairly. Please note that we cannot handle complaints pertaining to your insurer. Further details are available in our Complaints Procedure.

Cancellation Rights: You may cancel your policy in accordance with the terms of your policy document. Cancellation charges may apply as specified by the insurer.

Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

CompareYachtInsurance.com does not provide advice on your requirements. We offer a range of insurance products through our panel of insurers. We collect your personal details and requirements and pass these on to a panel of insurers. These insurers have agreements with us to accept your information, whilst complying with the Financial Conduct Authority Guidelines. Some panel insurers may respond to your enquiry directly and provide you with their quotations and terms and conditions. CompareYachtInsurance.com may act as a broker and receive your insurance quotation from some insurers in order to present this to you directly. Compare Yacht Insurance.com will by no means act as a party to any contract that you will sign, and should you choose to purchase an insurance product, then the contract is between yourself and insurers directly. You must ensure that any information which you provide CompareYachtInsurance.com is accurate and not misleading, as this information will be passed on directly to the insurers. Once you have received your quotation from the insurers, it is your duty and role to ensure that the information which they have based their quotation on is still accurate and up to date.

CompareYachtInsurance.com will always act in the best interest of you as our client. This means that all insurance quotes, whether suitable or not, will be passed on to you for your own review. CompareYachtInsurance.com does not provide financial advice, nor advice on the suitability of any insurance products, and cannot be held accountable nor responsible for the insurance quotes or policies provided by insurers.

CompareYachtInsurance.com will not hold any sensitive data information on yourself, as defined by section 1 of the 1998 Data Protection Act.  Any information which you provide is automatically sent through to the insurers and dealt with them under their own company guidelines and data protection act adherences. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you agree to allow CompareYachtInsurance.com to hold your data and contact you from time to time with new offers, partner offers or reminders on insurance renewal dates.

Should you choose to opt in to our newsletter, we may contact you on a regular basis with news, offers and any other products that may be of interest to you.

Upon renewal of your insurance policy, we may contact you as your broker to facilitate the renewal or provide you with alternative options where they are available. By submitting your details on our quote request form, you provide us with your renewal date for insurance. This date will be used to send you a yearly reminder that your insurance is due, and that you can come back to CompareYachtInsurance.com to use our service again. The first email that we send you, will provide you with the option to opt out of our annual renewal emails.

By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you agree not to hold CompareYachtInsurance.com liable for any contractual disputes that you may have under your insurance contract with underwrites that has been as a result of the introduction that CompareYachtInsurance.com make, unless there has been an error or omission on the part of CompareYachtInsurance.com, for which CompareYachtInsurance.com and their professional liability insurers reserve their rights to a full investigation.

Any premium that is payable to insurers directly, must be paid to them directly, for which we will never ask you to pay us.

Any premium that is due to be paid to us on behalf of your insurers, which will be the case when CompareYachtInsurance.com are facilitating your insurance as broker by means of providing you with the insurance documentation, then this premium must be paid prior to insurance coverage coming into effect. CompareYachtInsurance.com will provide you with a suitable invoice and bank details in order to effect this payment, which will be held in a non-statutory insurer trust account on behalf of our insurers.
